CITROEN C2R2 JIM CLARK RALLY REPORT

WELCOME

Welcome to the Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Championship’s Citroën C2R2 Cup. Now in its second year, the one make series is based on the highly successful Citroën C2 S1600 rally car, the 1600cc Rally 2 category cars being aimed at drivers who want to shine in equal spec machinery.
The 2008 Citroën C2R2 Cup will continue to run within the Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Championship, comprising six international rallies held throughout the British Isles.
Competitors have the opportunity to drive the international specification 185 bhp Citroën C2, a fantastic package complete with sequential gearbox, on some of the best rallies in the British Isles. The cars use a controlled kit of parts from the UK’s sole Citroën Sport distributor, Charles Hurst (Belfast), as well as the BRC’s control Pirelli tyre and Tesco 99 Octane fuel, leaving the results down to ability rather than budget.

The Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Championship’s C2R2 Cup provides dedicated TV coverage on Sky Sports, high profile rallies, public promotional events and regular press releases providing focus on the action throughout the Championship. Through this the C2R2 Cup aims to give teams and competitors a valuable marketing platform for sponsors and partners.

PIRELLI START DRIVER AWARD

Every competitor in every class will be eligible for the 2008 Pirelli Star Driver competition. The scheme will nominate a “Star” driver from each round of the Championship. The six event selections will be automatically joined by the highest placed Citroën C2 R2 and Swift Sport Cup Juniors. All finalists will go head to head in a final shoot out competition. The eventual winner will receive a fully funded top line team drive in 2009.
